FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How many EV charge points does a business need to install?

The number of charge points depends on the size of your fleet, how they'll be used (employees, visitors, service vehicles) and the power available on site. Volticom assesses your needs and sizes the installation precisely, with a detailed, free, no-obligation estimate prepared after a complete brief. Our QUALIFELEC-qualified IRVE partner installers operate throughout France.

What is dynamic load management (load balancing) for EV chargers?

Dynamic load management, or load balancing, automatically shares the available electricity between charge points to help keep demand within the site's contracted power. This can reduce the need to oversize the electricity supply while several vehicles charge. Volticom builds this feature in from the design stage of the project.

Can you re-bill EV charging to employees or users?

Yes. Thanks to charge point supervision, every session is metered and the kWh used can be re-billed to employees, co-owners or other users. Volticom sets up this kWh re-billing for businesses and configures it to suit how you operate. Request a quote and we'll work out the right solution for you.

What is OCPP supervision for EV chargers?

Supervision via the OCPP protocol lets you manage and monitor your charge points remotely: tracking consumption, controlling access, managing badges and re-billing. It's an open standard, so you're not locked into a single hardware brand. Volticom deploys supervised, OCPP-compatible charge points.

How do you charge a fleet of electric company vehicles?

Fleet charging combines several charge points (often 7.4 kW single-phase, 11 or 22 kW three-phase), dynamic load management and supervision to keep track of each vehicle. Volticom sizes the infrastructure around your rotations and your contracted power, and prices the project free of charge after receiving a complete brief. Installation complies with the NF C 15-100 standard, throughout France.

What charge point power should you choose for business use?

The usual power ratings are 7.4 kW single-phase, 11 kW and 22 kW three-phase; the right choice depends on the vehicles, how long they're parked and the power available on site. Volticom advises you on the best configuration during the assessment. It's all set out in a free, no-obligation quote prepared after a complete brief.

How do you install EV chargers in a co-ownership (apartment building)?

A co-ownership can opt for a shared infrastructure sized to fit out parking spaces gradually, with dynamic load management and individual kWh re-billing. Volticom assesses your car park, proposes a solution compliant with the NF C 15-100 standard and provides a quote within 48 hours after a complete brief, across France. Our IRVE certified partners operate throughout France.

What grants are available for businesses installing EV chargers?

The ADVENIR programme can support business and co-ownership projects, subject to the applicable scale and eligibility. Volticom helps you check whether your project qualifies and put the application together. Call us on 09 55 92 66 32 or email contact@volticom.fr to talk it through.

What warranty and after-sales support comes with chargers installed by Volticom?

Installations come with a decennial liability insurance policy with AXA, subject to the declared activities, limits and terms of the current insurance certificate. Should the need arise, after-sales support keeps your charge points running. Volticom is QUALIFELEC-qualified for IRVE (P1, P2, P3) and RGE.

How long does it take to install commercial EV chargers?

A single charge point is usually installed within a timeframe confirmed after the site assessment; larger projects (fleet, co-ownership, local authority) are scheduled according to the scale of the work. Volticom provides a detailed, free, no-obligation estimate after a complete brief, then schedules the work with its certified partner installers throughout France.
