FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is installing charging stations at a business mandatory?

The French Mobility Orientation Act requires pre-equipment and a minimum number of charging points for car parks with more than twenty spaces attached to non-residential buildings. Depending on the size of your car park and the date of your building, the obligation varies, and our technical audit clarifies your exact regulatory requirements.

What is the difference between an AC station and a DC station for a business?

An alternating current (AC) station charges at 7.4, 11 or 22 kW and is perfectly suited to on-site charging during office hours or overnight. A direct current (DC) station delivers fast charging for a short stay, but remains more expensive and is reserved for intensive use or high-turnover fleets.

How long does it take to charge an electric vehicle at the office?

On a 7.4 kW station, a vehicle recovers around 40 kilometres of range per hour, which is more than enough for a full charge over a working day. At 22 kW three-phase, charging is much faster, provided the vehicle accepts this power in alternating current.

Can a charging station be installed in an outdoor car park?

Yes, professional stations are designed for outdoor installation on a floor stand or wall mount, with a protection rating suited to the weather. The site audit checks the cable routing, the distance to the panel and compliance with the NF C 15-100 standard before any installation.

Do you need a declaration or permit to install stations at a business?

The electrical installation must be carried out by an IRVE-qualified installer and declared to Consuel for validation. Depending on the scale of the civil engineering works, a prior declaration to the town hall may be required, a point our technical study identifies ahead of the works.

Can workplace charging be a benefit in kind for employees?

Making a station available to your employees may be treated as a benefit in kind subject to specific tax and social security rules. OCPP supervision and RFID badges allow each session to be tracked precisely, which makes your accountant's work easier on this point.

Can charging be managed according to the company's solar production?

Yes, thanks to dynamic load management and the OCPP protocol, stations can modulate their power according to the energy available on site. This approach allows you to prioritise self-consumption and schedule charging during off-peak hours to optimise your electricity bill.

How many stations can be connected to a single electrical panel?

The number of stations depends directly on the power available at your panel and the sizing of your subscription. Thanks to load shedding and dynamic distribution, several stations intelligently share the power without overloading the installation, and our audit calculates your site's real capacity.

What happens if a professional charging station breaks down?

Monitoring makes it possible to detect a fault remotely and quickly trigger an intervention. The stations come with a decennial liability insurance policy with AXA, subject to the declared activities, limits and terms of the current insurance certificate and the installation is covered by AXA insurance, with support that stays responsive to restore service.

Can an existing station installation be moved or expanded?

Yes, an OCPP-supervised infrastructure is scalable and lets you add new charging points as your fleet grows. For any relocation or extension, request a detailed quote, free and with no commitment, priced within 48 hours after a study of your needs, across France.
